The South Hadley Public Library, Gaylord Memorial Library, and Boston Public Library have partnered to preserve and digitize over one hundred original records from South Hadley’s early years. Early South Hadley is a collection of original documents from 1743 to 1842, roughly spanning the Town of South Hadley’s first century. It includes legal documents such as land deeds, indenture contracts, and records of business transactions from farms and tradesmen. The collection also contains records that show the community’s early contributions to the revolutionary effort such as the muster records of South Hadley’s Minuteman regiments of 1755.
