Oct. 18-Free Screening at Tower Theaters

Taking Care: THE LEGACIES WE’LL ACCEPT AND THOSE WE WON’T
Saturday, October 18, 2025.
From 9:30am-11:30am
South Hadey Tower Theatres

Karen Buscemi-Saunders, NP and the Tower Theaters invite you to a special screening of an intimate documentary.

Directed and produced by award-winning filmmaker James Keach, Taking Care is a 38-minute documentary following the journey of acclaimed filmmakers Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen as they navigate the complexities and heartbreak of the advancing Alzheimer’s disease of Lauren’s mother. Through humor, heart, and an unwavering commitment to change, Taking Care imparts a message of hope, resilience, and the profound impact individuals can have when they seek solutions to society’s greatest challenges.

If you are looking for inspiration and support, the film is followed with a discussion with an elder law attorney, a geriatric nurse practitioner, and a geriatric care manager.
Plan to come to this free event for conversation, collaboration, community–and a free screening, pop-corn, and beverages.

September 7-South Hadley River Road Bike Ride

The public is invited to participate in an afternoon Bike Ride hosted by the South Hadley Bike/Walk Committee on Sunday,  September 7, 2025. The Ride is approximately 6 miles long, and will start and end at the South Hadley Public Library Parking lot. Before the ride, there will be a short introduction to group riding, hand signals, and basic safety. Younger people are welcome to come on this ride, as long as they’re comfortable riding on roads.

Hatfield Bike Ride to benefit Western MA Food Bank

Hatfield WillBike4Food Ride
Sunday, September 21, 2025, 7am to 5pm (first ride leaves at 7am)
Lion’s Club Pavilion, Hatfield MA
Information and Registration from Food Bank of Western MA
Additional details from MassBike

Hello, South Hadley Bikers and Walkers! The South Hadley Bike/Walk Committee would like to call your attention to a bike event next month—the WillBike4Food ride in Hatfield on September 21st to benefit the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. This is a fun community event for a great cause, with 4, 12, 25, 50, and 100 mile scenic routes along the Connecticut River, starting and ending in Hatfield. Participants can ride and fundraise individually or with a team of friends, family, or coworkers.

Many families in the Valley experience food insecurity, and this year the Food Bank is dealing with a cut of almost half a million dollars’ worth of funding. Let’s help them make up this shortfall and support our neighbors, making sure everyone in the Valley has nutritious food. This is a fun, family-friendly event, and a few of our Bike/Walk committee members will be participating. Please feel free to donate to Jake or Anne’s campaigns below and consider signing up for the ride yourself!
